Bring the books (2 Timothy 4:13)
Books
Books I've read that stirred my heart toward God. None replaces the Book — but the best ones keep sending you back to it.

Knowing God ↗
Packer’s classic on the character of God. Its central conviction shapes this whole site: “Once you become aware that the main business that you are here for is to know God, most of life’s problems fall into place of their own accord.” Not a book about theology so much as an invitation to adore the God theology describes.
-
Mere Christianity ↗
Lewis’s wartime radio talks, gathered into the most influential apologetic of the twentieth century. A wonderful book to hand to a thoughtful friend who is not yet a believer — and a bracing re-read for those of us who are. “Look for yourself, and you will find in the long run only hatred, loneliness… Look for Christ and you will find Him, and with Him everything else thrown in.”

The Pursuit of God ↗
Short, searching, and aflame. Tozer diagnoses the modern heart that is content to know about God without thirsting for Him. “O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more.” Read it slowly, with your Bible open.
